Ode'iminan miinawaa gwiiwizens miinawaa animosh miinawaa ajidamoo.

Waasabiikwe Gaa-anishinaabewisidood


1.) Gwiiwizens bezhig owiijiiwaan animoshan.

This one boy was with his dog.

2.) Awe gwiiwizens izhinaagwadini omakizinan miskwaandeniwan. Awe dash animosh izhinaagwadini miskwaabaateniwan omakizinan.

The boys shoes are red. The dogs shoes are pink.

3.) Awe gwiiwizens miinawaa animosh bimibatoowag miikanaang. Gaa-izhi noogibatoowaad, waabandamowaad ode'iminan bakekanaang.

The boy and the dog were running along the road. Then they stopped running when they saw strawberries on the side of the road.

4.) Naanaagadawaabandamowaad ode'iminan. Miskwaamagakin ode'iminan. Miish iwe bapakwajibidood gwiiwizens ini ode'iminan imaa mitakamig.

As they were looking and pondering the strawberries, the red strawberries, then the boy picked (plucked) the strawberries from the ground.

5.) Wiigwaasimakak ogii-ayaan gii-pabaamawinzod, babaa asiginang gaa-izhi atood imaa biinj ayi'iing iw wiigwaasimakakong.

He had a birch bark basket when he was going around picking berries, as he was going around gathering he put them inside the birch bark basket.

6.)Jiikendang mawinzod gaa-pi naazikaagod ajidamoon. Ajidamoo dash omisawendaanan ode'iminan.

As he was happy picking berries he was approached by a squirrel. The squirrel wanted the strawberries.

7.) Wii-kagwe makamigod ode'iminan. Gaa-izhi maajibatoowaad gii-kiiwebatoowaad animosh miinawaa gwiiwizens.

The squirrel tried to steal the strawberries. Then the dog and the boy started running home.

8.) Mii go geyaabi dakonang gwiiwizens ode'iminan ginjiba'iwewaad.

The boy was still holding the strawberries as they escaped.

9.) Gaa-izhi giiwebatoowaad. Mii imaa gaa-izhi igowaad apii-degoshinowaad. " Niwii- asemaakaadaanan akawe jibwaa miijiiyaang."

Then they ran home. Then they were told when they got home. " Im going to make a tobacco offering to them before we eat them.

10.) Mii iwe ji-bakwajibatoowaad iniwen aniibiishensan imaa ogiji ode'iminan gii-kiziibiigitoonaawaad.

Then they plucked off the leaves on the strawberries when they cleaned them.

11.) Wiishkopogwadiniwan iniwen ode'iminan. Anooj izhiingweniwag maamiijiwaad omaamaayan miinawaa animosh. Mii imaa gii-kidaamowaad. Na mii iwe.

The strawberries were sweet. They made (sour faces) when they ate the berries the mom and the dog. Then they ate them up. That's it.
